Just got back to Seoul from Gyungsamnamdo, and for most of the time there I didn't have internet. I was in Gyungsamnamdo for 5 days, 4 nights... :o I originally went there thinking that it was 4 days, 3 nights. So behind on my blog :(
From Sunday July 16, 2012
We had to wake up around 9 or 10am ish, because the workers there started to clean up - taking away the blankets to wash. Attempted to read a Korean manhwa from the shelves they had of them, and then went to the sauna. I alternated between the hot and cold baths again! Wow.. the cold bath is freezing though. But once you get in, and stay in for a while, it's probably the best bath there. I felt a sense of clarity while in the cold bath, but in the hot baths, I eventually got a headache from the heat.
Anyway, after left Vesta 찜질방. Bee and Gee left early. Key and I continued to hang out with the rest of the group. We tried to find some place to eat, but it started to rain, so we ended up taking a taxi to Centum City. In my taxi was me, Ling, Seokgyu (aka Cutie), and Sangwoo (aka Baby). There we met the rest of the crew (basically all the groups minus Yeongseop - who came later, Han, Bee, and Gee). We went into Sinsaegae, which is inside Centum City, and had lunch. Centum City is the world's largest department store. We wanted to go to SpaLand, reportedly really nice 찜질방 [sauna], in Centum City but they weren't 24 hours, so we chose Vesta over SpaLand.
After lunch, went to Homeplus, which is also inside Centum City, to get socks for ice skating and I also picked up 삼선 [3 lines] slippers because the sandals that I had brought with me kept making me slip. Then continued on to the ice skating rink! Lost Key and Chris for a bit, but they ended up beating us to the ice skating rink. It was the first time skating for a bunch of the students - including Key and Chris. It was fun.
After skating, Katie, Ling and I went shopping and we thought Seomyun's Primall would be cheaper than Centum City's department stores, so we hopped on the subway and went there while the guys preoccupied themselves with other endeavors. I know Key and Andy had a blast going on an adventure to the beach and lighthouse. They even had a run in with Korean marines?! Haha they were escorted off the premises since someone had reported them being suspicious - climbing on the rocks with their shirts off rose the alarm I suppose. They got out of trouble claiming that it's normal in American culture.
After we all met up again, we went to have dinner while Sangwoo and Seokyu went to play pocketball. Those two had already ate. My phone was really low on battery since ice skating in Centum City, so no pictures from after then. :(
Then rushed to the bus terminal in Nampo. YeongSeop led us to a bus stop that would drop us off at the bus terminal...we got on, but when we got off at our stop, we realized that somebody in our massive group was missing... Ling goes - "Where's Michael?" Terrible. We call him, and he's like - "WhAT! You guys left me on the bus?!"
So he gets off at the next bus stop, which actually was a bit far off I believe, and then took a taxi back. We were panicking because we thought we would miss the last bus to Pohang and be stuck in Busan for the night. Turns out all was okay though - we took the 11pm bus back to Pohang's Intercity bus terminal. haha on the ride back, there was an ajumma (older lady) that kept complaining about a rotting and sweaty smell. hahhahaha She kept saying it, and as soon as she got the chance, she switched her seat to the front. The smell was most likely from Key and Andy because they got soaked and the lady had to sit next to them hahaha. Once we got back to Pohang, we took a taxi back to Postech. Boy were we exhausted.
